All our Dyed-to-order tonal yarns are available to purchase in the shop and carry a discount of 10% when you purchase a minimum of 4 skeins (the discount is applied automatically when you add the yarn to your cart).

I'd be delighted to dye you a sweater quantity of our speckled yarn too - please contact me here to discuss your requirements.

Taxes

UK yarn prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate of 20%.

Our VAT Registration No. is 386 193 266

If you are purchasing from an EU country you will very likely be required to pay VAT, customs and handlings fees when the yarn arrives in your country. Please review your local tax rules carefully before making your purchase. Beehive Yarns is not responsible for EU VAT, additional charges or any delays due to customs. There is further information on post-Brexit, EU changes in our Shipping section.

Subscription Services

You are able to sign-up for a subscription to our yarn clubs, this will unlock a discount on your recurring order!

Recurring payments will be taken automatically from your chosen payment method on the 1st of each month. You will receive an email when you order that contains a link to your subscription account, where you can amend your order (for example to change the yarn base), pause the subscription temporarily, or cancel.

You will also receive a reminder email each month 3 days before the next payment is due to be taken. If you wish to change your order, please do so before the 1st of the month in order for the change to take effect that month, otherwise the change will be effective from the following month.

For example, if you change or cancel your subscription on 2nd June, this will take effect from the July club.

Care instructions

How do I wash items made with your yarn?
Whilst superwash yarn in particular is often machine washable at low temperatures, I would always advise to wash handknits separately by hand in luke-warm water and a mild detergent and to dry flat.

We now stock Soak handwash which is perfect for your handknits and other delicate laundry.

Will the colours bleed?
All our yarn is rinsed thoroughly after dyeing to remove excess dye however it is entirely normal for hand-dyed yarn to bleed a little on the first wash, particularly strong colours such as red or turquoise. I would therefore advise washing items separately by hand and rinsing several times on the first wash.

Allergen Policy

Do you have pets?
I dye and package my yarn in my home, where I live with two cats. My cats are not allowed in the dyeing studio or in the rooms where yarn is stored. Whilst I take care that my cats do not come into contact with the yarn and other items I stock, I would advise shopping with caution if you suffer from severe allergies.

Do you use scented woolwash/soap/other allergens?
I am mindful that many people have allergies to certain products and therefore do not use strong-scented woolwash on my yarn. Once dyed, all Beehive Yarns have a bath in a mild dishwashing detergent (Fairy Liquid!) before being thoroughly rinsed and dried. I do not use scented products in my packaging.

B-Side and Rarities

Whilst I  love to offer my repeatable colourways in the shop, it is sometimes nice to let loose and try something new! These 'one of a kind' (OOAK) skeins are made available in the shop and are not repeatable.

Ethical Yarns

Are Beehive Yarns mulesing free?
Whilst style is important being ethically sound is crucial, which is why all Beehive Yarns bases are guaranteed mulesing free. You can find out more about the yarn bases we offer here.

Packaging

We are working to reduce plastic in our packaging. Our products are now sent to you in brown paper, recyclable postal bags. We use paper tape and acid-free tissue paper. We occasionally use cellophane bags to pack notions or yarn sets. Please reuse these - they make great yarn storage!
